Divooka File Formats

  • .dvk: A binary format of Divooka documents with rich features including binary payloads and customizable chunks.
  • .json (DiDS): The text form of a Divooka document, friendly to version control, which Divooka opens and saves alongside .dvk. Its asset library is kept beside it in a <Name>.assets folder rather than inside the file.
  • .dvb: A Divooka app bundle - a plain zip, given its own extension so it can be told apart, holding a document as entry.dvk at its root, the files it reads beside it, and optionally a divooka.json manifest (format, kind, entry, title, mode, and any one program's own section, such as the Divooka Viewer's under viewer). stew --pack <document or folder> writes one; stew, divooka-host, DvkView, the Divooka Viewer and Divooka.app all read it, and accept the same bundle named .zip.
